Preparing for Brexit<\/strong>

If you are selling online into the EU then you may need to supply additional items of information with all shipments from 1st January 2020:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. A Trade Tariff Code for each product \u2013 also known as a Commodity Code or Harmonized System (HS) Code.<\/li>
  2. The Country of Origin of each product. For rules to establish the Country of Origin see: https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/rules-of-origin<\/a><\/li>
  3. An EORI number for your business. For more information see: https:\/\/www.revenue.ie\/en\/customs-tr…ri-system.aspx<\/a> If you do not have an EORI number you can apply for one here https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/eori<\/a><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Depending on how you generate invoices and shipping documents etc, you may or may not need this information to be held in Sellerdeck Desktop.

    If you do need to store this information in Sellerdeck Desktop, this article explains how to add the required variables.

    Please follow the instructions for the Sellerdeck Desktop version(s) that you are currently using:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Sellerdeck Desktop v16 & v18<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Once you have followed the relevant instructions, you will find the new settings added to your desktop software. The settings will be in the same location regardless of which version you have.

    If you have an older version of Sellerdeck Desktop and you do not want to upgrade, then you will need to add the three new variables by hand, and the new reports will not be available.     First, select \u2018Library\u2019 from the \u2018Design\u2019 menu and click the \u2018Variables\u2019 tab.

    Then work through the following instructions.

    Trade Tariff Code<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. In the \u2018Variables\u2019 tab, scroll down and right-click \u2018Product\u2019 and select New Variable<\/li>
    2. Give the variable the name \u2018TradeTariffCode\u2019 [IMPORTANT]<\/li>
    3. Add a Description \u2018Enter the Harmonised System (HS) Trade Tariff code\u2019<\/li>
    4. Add a Prompt \u2018Trade Tariff Code\u2019<\/li>
    5. For the \u2018Place of Setting\u2019 tick \u2018Site\u2019, \u2018Section\u2019 and \u2018Product\u2019<\/li>
    6. Tick \u2018Allow <Use Parent> as an Option\u2019<\/li>
    7. Set the Panel Name to \u2018Details\u2019 [IMPORTANT]<\/li>
    8. Set the \u2018Type\u2019 to \u2018Number\u2019<\/li>
    9. Tick \u2018Allow Empty Value\u2019 and \u2018Whole Numbers Only\u2019<\/li>
    10. Set \u2018Initial Value\u2019 to \u201cUse Parent ()\u201d<\/li>
    11. Click \u2018OK\u2019<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      12. Right-click again on \u2018Product\u2019 and select New Variable
      13. Give the variable the name \u2018CountryOfOrigin\u2019 [IMPORTANT]
      14. Add a Description \u2018Enter the country of origin\u2019
      15. Add a Prompt \u2018Country Of Origin\u2019
      16. For the \u2018Place of Setting\u2019 tick \u2018Site\u2019, \u2018Section\u2019 and \u2018Product\u2019
      17. Set the \u2018Type\u2019 to \u2018List of Choices\u2019 [IMPORTANT]
      18. Tick \u2018Allow <Use Parent> as an Option\u2019
      19. Tick \u2018Allow <New> as an Option\u2019 [IMPORTANT]
      20. Set the Panel Name to \u2018Details\u2019 [IMPORTANT]
      21. Set \u2018Initial Value\u2019 to \u201cUse Parent ()\u201d
      22. Set \u2018Top-Level Value\u2019 to \u2018United Kingdom\u2019
      23. Click \u2018OK\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      24. Scroll down and right-click \u2018Site\u2019 and select New Variable

      28. For the \u2018Place of Setting\u2019 tick \u2018Site\u2019 ONLY
      29. Tick \u2018Allow <Use Parent> as an Option\u2019
